Knurling Process of Rubber Bushings
Rubber bushings seem to be inconspicuous small objects, but these small objects are buffer devices for the connection points of our vehicle chassis and suspension system. In short, they play a role of buffering and isolating vibration. Rubber bushings have now been widely used in vehicles that we can see in our daily life. They are all over the connection points of the chassis and the connection points of the suspension. Our ordinary vehicle chassis generally has five rubber bushes. The bushing plays a role in protecting the mechanical parts. The use of rubber bushing can effectively reduce the wear, vibration and noise of mechanical parts, and has a certain anti-corrosion effect. Therefore, the quality of the rubber bushing can directly affect the performance, comfort and many other aspects of our vehicle.
Today we are going to introduce the knurling process of the rubber bushing. There are multiple knurlings on the end face of the inner tube of the bushing. There is an annular groove in between. The knurling can provide friction in both the tangential direction and the normal direction. The cutting edge of the knurling can carry a part of the force in each direction, which improves the fastening effect, is stable, has large friction and is not easy to loosen. Therefore, it is not necessary to select large-sized bolts to increase the weight, and it is also not necessary to increase the area of the end face to occupy space, and the structure is simple.
The upper and lower mounting plates of the subframe are engaged with the knurled structures on both ends of the inner tube of the arm bushing under the action of the mounting bolt tightening force, thereby preventing the swing arm bushing from moving during intense driving, and also preventing the torque attenuation of the mounting bolt. The knurling at both ends can increase the friction coefficient with the mounting surface, and the rubber sleeve is limited and restrained by the annular shoulder, which effectively improves its wear resistance and fatigue resistance.
