Why Rubber Bushing needs chamfering process?
Chamfering is a term in mechanical engineering. In order to remove the burrs caused by machining on the parts and to facilitate the assembly of the parts, chamfers are generally made at the ends of the parts.
What is the function of chamfering?
1. The bearing steel must be chamfered during rough machining before heat treatment, so that during the heat treatment of the material, the stress is released, the internal structure is redistributed, cracks are not easy to appear, and deformation is reduced. Chamfering can solve the problem of stress concentration.
2. Chamfering and deburring make the product not sharp and will not cut the user.
3. It plays a role of guiding and positioning during assembly.
Generally, the outer chamfer of the outer tube and the inner chamfer of the inner tube of the bushings are rounded corners. In addition to effectively avoiding contact stress, the most important thing is to facilitate installation. The rounded corners can ensure a good transitional fit.
Especially in the bearing process, the matching shaft and the positioning surface of the shaft hole, that is, the shaft shoulder and the bearing seat shoulder part, the chamfer size of this part directly affects whether the bearing can be installed correctly.
All our rubber bushings need chamfering process, GJ bush will always provide high quality rubber bushings for our clients!
Chamfering is the process of creating a small, angled edge on a piece of material. This is usually done to improve the appearance or function of the material. In the case of rubber bushings, chamfering can help to prevent the material from tearing or breaking during use. Bushings are commonly used in automotive and engineering applications, where they act as a cushion between two moving parts. They are often made from rubber, which is a relatively soft and flexible material. However, this flexibility can also make rubber susceptible to tearing and breaking, especially when it is under stress. One way to reduce the risk of damage to rubber bushings is to chamfer the edges. This creates a small angle on the edge of the bushing, which helps to distribute stress more evenly across the surface of the material. Chamfering can also help to improve the appearance of rubber bushings, by giving them a more finished look.
